Sta. Barbara Heights came alive on January 23, 2025, as Mercato Sta. Barbara held the Viva Mercato Sta. Barbara 2026: Dinagyang Music & Food Festival. From 2 PM onwards, the open-air market buzzed with energy as festival-goers explored vibrant food stalls, sampled local pasalubong favorites, and soaked in performances that brought Iloilo’s celebrated festival spirit straight to the township.
The Prakatak Drum Beaters and Dancers opened the festival with an electrifying performance that brought the spirit of Dinagyang straight to Sta. Barbara. Their synchronized rhythms and dynamic choreography instantly captured the crowd, connecting visitors to Iloilo’s world-famous festival traditions.
As the afternoon progressed, Kreonz Band Iloilo joined forces with Arnie Carmelle for a collaborative set that became one of the festival’s highlights. Their blend of pop and rock rhythms energized the audience, drawing festival-goers across Mercato Sta. Barbara to enjoy both the music and the variety of stalls.
Guests moved between stalls, sampling Santa Barbara and Iloilo favorites, discovering new tastes, and snapping photos of the colorful market scene. The festival also marked the debut of several new Mercato Sta. Barbara tenants, adding fresh options for food, treats, and finds.
As evening settled, the music shifted to a more intimate vibe with James F. Rojo, who performed as a solo busker among the stalls. His acoustic set carried across Mercato Sta. Barbara, offering a relaxing close to the festival while guests continued to browse, eat, and mingle.
With food, music, and culture coming together under the open sky, Mercato Sta. Barbara proved it’s more than a market—it’s a stage for community, celebration, and connection. Hala bira, indeed, found a home here.
